Job Description Summary:
Position OverviewCambridge Associates is seeking a dynamic and experienced client relationship management professional to join our Global Client Solutions team, in the capacity of a Client Director. The Client Director will be an active partner to a dedicated private client investment team in supporting private client relationships. This role is primarily responsible for cultivating, deepening, and retaining client relationships, driving new business, and delivering exceptional service to the team’s ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
As Client Director, you will play a key role in supporting a Boston-based investment team that functions as the dedicated investment office for 13 first/second generation family offices across the U.S., Canada, Central America, and Europe. The team manages portfolios ranging from $300 million to over $7 billion, with more than $19 billion in client assets under management. Renowned for consistently delivering top decile/quartile returns, the team has achieved significant organic growth through client referrals and strong networks within the family office community
Job Description:
New Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through cross-selling and deepening service offerings.
- Leverage the investment team’s existing client network to identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Business Development (lead and prospect generation) team to convert qualified leads into new private client relationships.
- Lead the proposal and onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition and strong engagement throughout.
- Represent Cambridge Associates at industry events, building the firm’s profile and network within the family office and private client markets.
- Lead negotiations on service scope and fee arrangements.
- Develop and execute pitch strategies, guiding and supporting the investment team throughout the pitch process. Provide coaching and constructive feedback to enhance team effectiveness and presentation skills.
Relationship Management & Retention
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned private clients, ensuring high levels of engagement, satisfaction, and long-term retention.
- Partner closely with the investment team to deliver tailored investment solutions and address client needs proactively.
- Develop and execute comprehensive client engagement strategies, including regular meetings, reviews, and feedback sessions.
- Proactively seek and gather feedback from clients regarding their overall experience with Cambridge Associates, serving as a neutral party within the investment team. Use this input to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the highest standard of client service.
- Collaborate with the investment and events teams to host quarterly roundtables, fostering client connectivity and deepening relationships.
- Partner with the investment team to build, monitor, and track progress against the annual business plan.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide Associate(s) in supporting both client service and business development activities.
- Foster a collaborative environment, sharing best practices and supporting the professional development of team members and other Client Directors
Performance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, relationship status, and business development activities in CRM Dynamics.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on client retention, new business won, and market feedback.
- Achieve performance targets based on client retention and aggregate net revenue growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Series 3 required; CFA/CAIA a plus
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in private client relationship management, investment consulting, wealth management, or related fields.
- Proven track record of building and retaining private client relationships, as well as winning new business.
- Strong investment acumen and deep understanding of the needs of high-net-worth clients; experience with first- and second-generation wealth creators is highly valued.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability; highly organized with excellent project management capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Command of Microsoft CRM Dynamics a plus

246800In addition to the listed salary range, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package. Actual placement within the stated salary range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity.
