The position
The world is changing and so are we. The demand for global Drug Product outsourcing initiatives to support our capacity ambitions is increasing and we need you on our journey. As Senior Category Manager within the Drug Product outsourcing department, you will be working closely with a Senior Manager and/ or category lead and be responsible for identifying solutions via category strategies and executing these by contracting with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). Collaboration across the landscape of external partners and the Corporate Novo Nordisk teams is of paramount importance to ensure that we deliver on our supply chain ambitions, at a competitive price for our patients.
The job entails that you:

  • Actively interact with relevant parts of the organization to understand the Novo Nordisk business needs
  • Based on the business needs, and aligning with our overall Supply Chain Strategy and specific Category Strategy, identify external providers capable of supporting us. This includes conducting sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ) while taking, in collaboration with your stakeholders, various sourcing criteria into account (e.g. timelines, costs, technology, robustness, biodiversity, responsible sourcing, etc.) - which at times might be complex to retrieve or define
  • Assist the Legal organization in drafting sourcing contracts, take the lead in negotiating contracts with the identified external solution providers (CMOs), as well as effectively managing the ongoing CMO relationship and updating contracts as necessary
  • Ensure that category fundamentals, such as contracting, negotiations, supplier collaboration structures, and risk assessments are all managed timely and according to internal procedures
  • Thrive with stakeholder management, with direct exposure to management of Novo Nordisk, as well as external partners

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you to:

  • Hold a master's degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering, or any other relevant field
  • Have a previous experience within procurement/sourcing from a large international organization
  • Demonstrate experience working in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, medical devices, automotive, health care, food, dairy, or cosmetics industries to name only a few
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Be fluent in both verbal and written English

As a person, you have a commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to quickly understand different complex business models and industry dynamics. You can put the strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into sourcing-related decisions. You can keep a holistic view on the entire Category, together with your team members, as well as its impact on other pieces of the supply chain, while still being into the details of your specific projects. Additionally, you are a skilled project manager, with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers. Lastly, you enjoy working in a multicultural and fast-paced environment and bring a 'can-do attitude', and a healthy sense of humour to your work also when under pressure.
