Part of the Strategic Sales and Analytics organization, the Senior Category Analyst plays a critical role in working with their Category Manager, focusing on the health of a category and ensuring we are set up to win. This role serves as the expert on POS performance, market trends, competitor’s performance, and future market projections for the category, acting as the voice of the category internally. The Senior Category Analyst role works directly with sales to ensure that every item is winning and set up to win versus its benchmark. This is an excellent position for a highly motivated team member who likes to work in a fast-paced environment and data driven atmosphere.

Responsibilities
- Deliver actionable reporting that enables the category to win, highlighting what the data means in a succinct manner, and then making recommendations to improve performance
- Serve as the category expert internally, generating and presenting actionable insights on pricing, promotional impacts, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs to develop comprehensive strategies
- Manage delivery of daily, weekly, monthly deliverables reporting on the health of the business
- Identify category gaps/opportunities, craft sales stories with strategic recommendations that differentiate Shark from competitors, helping to increase distribution, space, and displays
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of relevant work experience within category management or sales analysis
- Experience working for consumer goods company preferred
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and detail oriented, ensuring deadlines are met
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to present and calibrate on critical challenges to internal and external partners
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience pulling and analyzing syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, NPD, GFK, etc)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills
