Senior Business Systems Analyst - Data Engineering/PowerBI

The Senior Business Data Engineering Analyst will work with key business stakeholders and other analysts to implement a centralized data framework that makes enterprise system data available for self-service reporting in a reliable and efficient manner.
Using their background in enterprise systems such as ERP and PLM, the Analyst will work collaboratively with other analysts and business users to understand data requirements for reporting. They will translate the team’s needs into data solutions, including extracting the data from source systems and building data models that adhere to sound data governance practices. The Analyst will assist with evolving standards for how enterprise data is stored, integrated, consumed, and managed.
The Analyst’s goal is to create data connection methods and verified data models that will accelerate accurate and efficient reporting across the organization.

What you’ll work on:
- Analyze existing reporting data and business needs to determine technical requirements for creating or extending the content and accessibility
- Propose and document technical solutions that provide shared, centralized datasets
- Ensure solutions address scalability and security as well as providing a ‘single source of truth’
- Implement and maintain a data model management framework for enterprise business systems including ERP, PLM, and Project
- Onboard new data sets from source systems; ensure quality data and proper relationships; add measures as needed to support planned reports
- Assist with visualizations and reports as needed
- Provide training for power users to drive engagement and adoption of centralized data models.
What we’re looking for:
- 6+ years experience working with databases, data warehouses, data lakes, ETL tools, and reporting tools
- Proficiency with Power BI architecture
- Hands-on experience in extracting data from enterprise data sources and creating a data model
- Experience working with ERP, PLM and Project enterprise systems data and integrating them in a centralized data layer
- Understanding of reliability, scalability, and security factors for sound data models
- Familiarity with visualizations and ability to assist with report development
- Ability to work with key business partners to elicit and document requirements
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information
- Solid understanding of data warehouse life cycle, SDLC methodologies, source control, and promotion practices
- Experience with Azure SQL Server
- Experience with cloud enterprise systems such as Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Project Web App, or similar
