About the role:

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will help build robust analytical pipelines and downstream reports that support data-driven products and operations. They will use their technical expertise to identify opportunities to improve critical outcomes and operational efficiencies, helping to drive a data-driven culture. You will report to the engineering lead and work alongside product managers and operational/clinical leaders to solve critical company challenges. You will convert requirements into functional, scalable analytical solutions, keeping performance and security in mind.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with clinical and business stakeholders to understand the analytical needs of the business and providing insights in a rapid, iterative and collaborative process
  • Data profiling on complex healthcare data sets to identify data quality issues, root cause analysis, patterns, and insights
  • Communicate these findings to an audience of varying levels of technical expertise to ensure clear understating
  • Building insightful reports and interactive dashboards that help the Clinical and Operations teams in their decision-making while ensuring data accuracy and quality results
  • Contribute to improving our tooling (data pipelines) and processes so that we can deliver results more quickly and accurately
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline data management and reporting workflows

Desired skills and experience:

  • Required
  • Advanced SQL skills  and experience working with relational databases 
  • Solid foundation of data lake and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with AWS services like Glue, S3, Athena
  • Proficiency in using modern reporting tools (like Tableau, PowerBI, Looker or similar ) to build dashboards and reports for KPIs and doing deep-dive data analysis 
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake or Redshift
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment independently
  • 7+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence Developer or similar roles, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field

  • Preferred
  • Working with healthcare data like Eligibility, Claims and have a deep understanding of underlying data issues
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or similar
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like AirflowExperience with big data tools: Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Certifications in BI tools or data management (e.g., Tableau Certified Professional, AWS Certified Data Engineer/Developer)
