Job Responsibilities :

The Senior Business Development Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving significant revenue growth, cultivating high-value client relationships, and shaping the long-term business development strategy. This role involves leading complex negotiations, identifying emerging market opportunities, and mentoring junior team members. The Senior Business Development Manager works closely with the Head of Department (HOD) to refine strategic direction, manage key enterprise accounts, and ensure the achievement of ambitious revenue and expansion targets.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Strategic Planning and Market Expansion

- Collaborate with the HOD to formulate and execute long-term business strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and market positioning.

- Identify and evaluate new market segments, verticals, and geographical opportunities for expansion.

- Lead market research initiatives to anticipate industry trends, assess competitor movements, and uncover untapped revenue streams.


2. High-Value Client Acquisition and Strategic Partnerships

- Drive the acquisition of new, high-potential clients and strategic partners to strengthen the company's market leadership.

- Develop and manage a robust pipeline of enterprise-level opportunities, prioritizing deals with significant revenue potential.

- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle for complex, high-value deals, including structuring customized solutions and negotiating commercial terms.


3. Key Account Management and Revenue Maximization

- Oversee the management of a portfolio of strategic key accounts, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and long-term retention.

- Proactively identify and execute upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize account value and deepen client relationships.

4. Team Leadership and Mentorship

- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior Business Development Managers and team members.

- Support the professional development of the team by sharing best practices, sales techniques, and market insights.

- Assist in setting team targets and monitoring individual performance against goals.


5. Complex Proposal Development and Negotiation

- Lead the development of sophisticated proposals, pitch decks, and commercial models tailored to the unique needs of enterprise clients.

- Present proposals to senior client stakeholders with confidence and strategic insight.

- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, balancing client requirements with company profitability and risk exposure.


6. Cross-Functional Leadership and Stakeholder Management

- Partner with internal stakeholders (Product, Tech, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Marketing) to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.

- Champion client needs internally, advocating for product enhancements or process improvements that drive customer value.

- Act as a strategic bridge between external clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of solutions.


7. Process Optimization and Innovation

- Critically assess existing business development processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, or innovation.

- Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve the overall efficiency of the BD function.


8. Advanced Reporting and Business Insights

- Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to senior management on business development performance, pipeline health, revenue forecasts, and market trends.

- Analyze complex data sets to derive actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making.

- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring transparency and accountability.

- Track Record: Demonstrated success in consistently exceeding revenue targets and acquiring high-value enterprise clients.

- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the relevant industry landscape (e.g., fintech, payments, technology solutions) and regulatory environment.

- Complex Deal Management: Proven experience leading multi-million dollar deal negotiations and contract closures.

- Network: Established network of senior-level contacts within target industries or markets.
