We are looking for a Senior Business Data Analyst to join our Trading Centre of Excellence, providing valuable insights that drive trading strategy and optimise our sportsbook performance. You will work closely with traders, commercial teams, and product stakeholders to build sophisticated visualisations, analyse trading performance, and enable data-driven decision-making across our trading operations.
We're looking for someone with:- 2+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst, ideally with exposure to trading, sports betting, or commercial analytics;
- Expert-level Tableau skills with strong ability to create intuitive, actionable dashboards and visualisations;
- Understanding of underlying database structures, table relationships, and data models;
- Strong SQL skills for writing optimised queries across complex datasets;
- Analytical mindset with ability to translate trading challenges into data solutions;
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including traders, product managers, and commercial stakeholders;
- Strong organisational skills and ability to influence trading strategy and business decisions;
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent English language skills.
- Trading knowledge: Understanding of odds compilation, pricing mechanisms, margin management, and risk concepts;
- Familiarity with key trading metrics: eGGR (expected Gross Gaming Revenue), Closing Line Value, hold percentages, liability management;
- Strong mathematical foundation and ability to quickly grasp complex trading concepts;
- Experience with Python for advanced analytics;
- Background in sports betting environments;
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses;
- Knowledge of statistical modelling and A/B testing methodologies.
- Build World-Class Trading Dashboards: Design and develop sophisticated Tableau visualisations that enable traders to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and react quickly to market movements;
- Analyse Trading Performance: Deep dive into odds accuracy, margin efficiency, customer trading patterns, and liability exposure to identify optimisation opportunities;
- Support Trading Strategy: Collaborate with Trading Managers to analyse closing line value, assess pricing effectiveness, and evaluate the impact of trading decisions on profitability;
- Data Infrastructure & Quality: Ensure data accuracy and reliability by understanding underlying database structures, maintaining data pipelines, and working with engineering teams to improve data availability;
- Monitor Key Metrics: Track and report on critical trading KPIs, including eGGR, hold percentages, market share by sport/event, and risk exposure across customer segments;
- Enable Faster Decision-Making: Create self-service reporting tools that empower traders and commercial teams to access insights independently.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Product, Commercial, Risk, and Engineering teams to align analytics efforts with broader business objectives;
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance trading operations through data-driven insights and process optimisation.
