As this is a senior role, you will expected to take responsibility for the accuracy and effectiveness of the entire process of gathering requirements, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged, consulted and informed on what is an enterprise scale, multi-year project. As the project grows, this could also involve managing a small team of Business Analysts, so you will be comfortable with stepping into a leadership role as necessary.

You will act as the main liaison between the business stakeholders and the technical delivery teams, ensuring that software development projects meet the needs and objectives of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for software development projects. Conduct interviews, workshops, and analysis of existing systems to understand user needs and business objectives. Ensure that business requirements are validated and traceable.
  2. Documentation: Create clear and concise documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, and user stories. Ensure that all documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and easily understandable by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Process Analysis: Analyse existing business processes to identify areas for improvement and optimisation. Work closely with stakeholders to define and document future state processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
  4. Testing Assurance: Work with the Software Testing teams to ensure that technical testing provides the appropriate coverage and detail to meet business requirements.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to business analysis and software development. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our development methodologies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Business Analyst in a software development environment.
  • Experience leading a small team is desirable but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in requirements elicitation and documentation techniques, such as interviews, workshops, use cases, and user stories.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Knowledge of business process modeling techniques and tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio).
  • Experience with software testing and quality assurance processes is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are desirable but not required.

Join our team and play a key role in driving the success of our software projects by bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions!
