The client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst capable
of working independently on a large-scale, multi-year program (approximately
$12 million over 3 years) in individual insurance, replacing a resource already
working on a launched program.
The environment is agile, matrix, multi-team, and under
development: the individual must progressively structure a complex requirement
without being dictated to, and produce just the right amount of analysis at the
right time to support incremental delivery.
The role is distinct from the Product Owner, who retains
scope decisions at the story level, and the PM, who retains them at the feature
level: the Business Analyst contributes to the backlog at both levels, without
making the final decision. A background in individual insurance (life, health,
disability, annuities) is crucial for integration, as the products, business
rules, and claims processes differ from property and casualty insurance.
Knowledge of claims is a recognized asset, fully satisfied by individual
insurance claims (disability, death, critical illness), and partially by
property and casualty insurance claims.
