Senior BreederWhat will you do?You will be part of the pepper non-heated breeding department in Spain. As a Senior Breeder, you will be responsible to develop and maintain a competitive breeding program that aligns with Enza’s long-term vision, ensuring the development of commercially successful pepper varieties. The key responsibilities include,• Translation of Pepper Breeding Strategies into a tactical and operational breeding goals and implementation.•Create and maintain a breeding pipeline capable of addressing short and long-term market needs.• Ensure trial placements are in line with crop objectives and market requirements. Collects and manage data to support breeding decisions.•Coordinate program workflow activities with the pepper team and different company departments.• Manages different breeding projects and activities in an efficient way.• Incorporates new breeding technologies and tools into daily workflows with agility and efficacy.• Integrate data-driven processes and decisions into breeding operations.• Actively engage in various company activities.• Contribute to the decision-making processes by providing reliable data to advance varieties. - Master's or PhD in plant breeding, genetics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in plant breeding. Experience in row field crops is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of plant breeding, modern methods of breeding, including quantitative genetics and phytopathology.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills. Works well in a team environment.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical skills
- A thorough understanding of English, both verbal and written is required.
- Travel will be required (International/ Domestic). You can work under intense weather conditions.
