We are seeking a Senior Billing Specialist who will play a critical role in scaling TRM’s revenue operations infrastructure to support the next phase of our growth. As a Series B company with the operational ambition of a Series C+ organization, we are building for scale—streamlining people, processes, and systems to ensure accuracy, speed, and flexibility across all billing and collections functions. The Senior Billing Specialist will join a high-performing Accounting & Finance team that leads with ownership, accountability, and a commitment to excellence. You’ll work cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, FP&A, Legal, and business teams to deliver timely, accurate invoices and collections, while continuously identifying ways to improve and automate workflows. This role is critical to ensuring billing accuracy, improving cash flow predictability, and maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
The impact you will have:- Own the end-to-end billing and invoicing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all customer accounts.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal to ensure contract terms are accurately reflected in billing and revenue recognition.
- Drive collections efforts by monitoring outstanding receivables, resolving disputes, and partnering with customers to improve payment cycles.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve scalability through automation.
- Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation and strengthening internal controls over billing and collections processes.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure invoicing practices align with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, including supporting the review and documentation of customer contracts to determine billing schedules and appropriate revenue treatment.
- 3+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or revenue operations experience, ideally in a high-growth SaaS or fintech environment.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration preferred.
- Strong understanding of billing systems, invoicing workflows, and collections best practices, with experience in platforms like NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar ERP/CRM systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy, paired with an ownership mindset and the ability to drive initiatives to completion.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally and resolve customer inquiries efficiently.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formula logic) to support billing analysis and reconciliation.
- Ability to drive process automation and operational improvements for scalability and accuracy.
- Knowledge of ASC 606 with experience aligning invoicing practices and reviewing contracts for proper revenue treatment.
- Experience working with government and public sector clients.
- The estimated base salary range for this role is $83,000–$90,000, with equity included as part of the total compensation package.
