What We Need:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior BI Developer to join our team! In this role, you will take full ownership of designing data models and building insightful visualizations that drive decision-making across our mortgage operations. If you're passionate about data modeling, have experience with Power BI, and excel at turning complex data into actionable insights, this is the perfect opportunity to lead high-impact projects and mentor a growing team.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and data sources related to mortgage operations.
  • Design and build star schema data models to support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring scalability and efficiency in handling large datasets.
  • Translate complex business requirements into effective and user-friendly visualizations, enabling stakeholders to derive actionable insights.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decisions, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Lead discussions around the development of new KPIs and metrics that drive business growth.
  • Adhere to data governance policies and best practices, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Take full ownership of designing and developing data models and semantic models in Power BI that support advanced analytics and reporting requirements, collaborating with data engineers to ensure proper data flow.
  • Implement version control strategies to track changes, ensure consistency, and facilitate seamless deployments in the Power BI environment.
  • Implement appropriate security measures to protect sensitive data, both in transit and at rest.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
  • Lead training sessions and workshops to elevate the organization's Power BI expertise.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in business intelligence, especially within the Power BI ecosystem, and suggest innovative solutions to improve analytics capabilities.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of at least 6 years in business intelligence, data modeling, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including building semantic models and developing dashboards and reports.
  • Foundational knowledge in data modeling, such as star schema.
  • Excellent understanding of data governance principles and data security best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading data visualization projects and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align BI initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with mortgage industry data and metrics is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficient in SQL and experience with cloud-based database systems.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for staying updated on the latest trends in business intelligence and data visualization.
  • Relevant certifications in Power BI or related technologies are advantageous but not mandatory
