What will this role achieve?

The Senior Business Account Manager is responsible for European Discounters you will own the strategy and execution with the Customer across all of our Branded and private label categories. This is a priority growth area for the business and will include strong customer relationships, where you will seek to understand, influence and align pladis and customer strategies to deliver profitable, sustained long term share growth to exceed our internal metrics.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Full ownership and accountability of European Discounters across all key financial and share metrics
  • Full P&L management including forecasting and delivery of monthly sales/profit targets
  • Design, influence and implement plans for a strategic multi-year plan enabling category growth across Biscuits and Snacks. From this deliver sustained JBP’s to exceed expectations across Branded and private label Biscuits and snacks categories, using negotiation skills, growth mindset, creativity, persistence and energy.
  • Build a strong and strategic relationship with Customers across multiple functions.
  • Build a short and long term strategy to win profitable share in Euro Discounters on-boarding internal functions to ensure execution of winning growth and share plans for pladis
  • Execute margin-creation initiatives whilst maintaining customer support and growth.
  • Management and career development of one direct report with responsibility for Other bargain stores
  • Network to all levels within Aldi and Lidl, building winning relationships and a positive growth based narrative for pladis.
  • Handle challenging and combative discussions with buyers reverting challenging situations to the positive.
  • Drive for and set the highest standards for delivery, growth and in store execution, as well as for internal grip and performance accuracy.
  • Lead from the outside in, reflect exceptional customer knowledge and insight, understand best practise and improve pladis performance through understanding and change management.

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing European Discounters and delivering impressive results within the UK Grocery industry
  • Strong ability to deliver senior level narrative and relationship building to win the ties for pladis, delivering consistent market beating growth.
  • Driven, resilient, ambitious, creative value set to challenge the status quo internally and externally, with a mindset to delivering outstanding results
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team towards a common goal
  • Problem solving and solution orientated
  • Detail mindset to deliver strong financial grip, P&L fluency
  • Negotiation expertise
  • Private label experience and ability to manage branded growth
  • Category selling experience
  • Cross functional experience
