Senior Backend Software Engineer
Remote - US
Goodwin is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help us on our journey to build the world’s premier charter technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior backend engineer, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.
- Design RESTful APIs for our Private Jet Charter Broker/Operator solutions
- Be our subject matter expert in maintaining and scaling AWS infrastructure
- Design and implement database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
- Develop, test, and maintain server-side applications using programming languages such as Node.js.
- Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met and allow for regression testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and contribute to the design and architecture of backend systems.
- Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Mentor and coach junior back-end developers as needed.
- Ability to provide production support during critical time periods which may fall outside normal business hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience (~10 years) as a Backend Software Engineer or similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or bootcamp equivalent.
- Must have experience in writing highly secure web applications and with core AWS web-enabling technologies.
- Experience in designing RESTful APIs
- Experience with PostgreSQL schema design, SQL query optimize, Prisma.
- Experience with AWS and DevOps tools.
- Proficiency in Express, Node.js.
- Exposure to distributed system cache, event based systems, kafka, zookeeper, pub/sub and third party system integrations.
