Job Summary 🧾
As a Backend Engineer on the Open Platform team you will be central to building and maintaining a self-service platform that enables any builder—internal or external—to create an account, connect necessary channels, and launch working solutions within minutes instead of weeks. Your focus will be on developing the robust public APIs, API gateways, security systems, and communication protocols that power the entire platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and ready for faster growth potential.

Your mission is to build the foundational services that will grow Yalo’s SaaS capabilities.

- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and robust data microservices.
- Optimize data retrieval, storage, and processing for high-volume, data-intensive applications.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of services.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, ensuring best practices, setting coding standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure Yalo remains at the cutting edge.
Job Requirements?💻
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Golang and/or Node.js is a must.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying data-intensive microservices.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, databases, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of API design and RESTful principles.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

Yalo helps businesses offer a delightful customer experience on their customers' favorite apps – Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and WeChat. Every business on Yalo has a virtual assistant with an optimized flow that handles customer requests to the point of payment and fulfillment. If at any point the customer need is beyond what the chatflow is capable of doing, the request gets seamlessly transferred to a human agent to provide resolution.
