NuWealth is a leading fintech company revolutionizing how individuals save and invest. With a robust backend powered by PHP and Laravel, we are committed to delivering a seamless, reliable experience for our users.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our growing team.

You will be responsible for leading the entire software development lifecycle—from designing and developing to testing and deploying software solutions.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll help create scalable and robust solutions that power NuWealth’s platform.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact features, optimise backend performance, and shape the architecture that supports the company’s growth.

About You

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience with PHP/Laravel.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services.
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Strong experience in backend development.
• Proficient in cloud architecture.
• Proficiency in using GitHub for version control and Docker for containerization.
• Experience working in agile environments and participating in all stages of development
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• A proactive, positive attitude with a passion for continuous learning.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.

Preferred but not essential

• Experience leading projects or teams.
• Prior experience in the fintech sector.
• Familiarity with security and data protection best practices, especially in financial services.
