Senior Backend Engineer

CB4, part of the world-leading retail Gap Inc., is looking for a top-talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our core R&D team!

In this hands-on role, you will design and implement robust backend components, contribute to the development of complex features in a data-driven environment, and serve as a professional anchor within the team.
You’ll work closely with other engineers and teams to ensure scalable, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement backend components and infrastructure
• Develop advanced features and services in a distributed, cloud-based environment
• Collaborate with other engineers and provide guidance when needed
• Work with cross-functional teams on system integrations and API development
• Contribute to the evolution of the system architecture and data flows

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience as a senior backend/server/infrastructure engineer – must
• Hands-on experience with Java in high-volume, multithreaded, cloud-based environments – must
• Experience with microservices architecture and REST API development
• Background in Big Data technologies, data pipelines, and/or data lake implementation
• Strong understanding of OOP/OOD principles – must
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and methodologies
• Experience working with cloud platforms – Google Cloud is an advantage
• Proven ability to mentor and support other developers
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
