Senior Software Engineer

FUGA works at the forefront of music distribution technology, connecting its clients with Digital Streaming Platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music while helping them get the most from their music, whether that’s with award-nominated label services, industry-leading revenue accounting, or using FUGA’s suite of best-in-class products.

FUGA’s Data & Analytics team is looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to work in our Amsterdam headquarters. In this role, you’ll work with large-scale music streaming analytics data and contribute to the value-added projects that directly support the business.

The team is responsible for the daily retrieval, processing, analysis and publishing of insights on large volumes of music performance data coming from several popular Digital Streaming Platforms. The team manages large Google BigQuery datasets and has an overall data footprint of over half a PetaByte. All services are containerized and hosted in either a local Data Center or in Google Cloud.

 WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Create, deploy and improve high performance back-end services in Java and Kotlin
• Develop components to interact with APIs, databases, cloud services, message brokers, filesystems and data processing infrastructure
• Leverage a wide range of Cloud and SaaS resources and functionality
• Maintain, improve and evolve the processes, pipelines and infrastructure to scale with the growing data volumes
• Perform analysis on data and optimisation of software and running processes
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to own tasks and drive team success
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and drive continuous improvement in team practices

• A highly skilled engineer with a deep understanding of underlying technologies and how to best utilise them
• Have experience working with Google Cloud Platform
• Proficient in SQL, skilled at writing complex queries for insights and efficient data wrangling

• Have a high level of attention to detail, are self-driven, and able to work independently
• You're a strong analytical thinker and excellent problem-solver
• Own projects end-to-end: from requirements to implementation

• Prior experience in the music industry is a big plus
• Skilled with Python libraries for data manipulation
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes
