To reach our goal, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Applications Team. At Qwello, you will architect, design, and implement new backend services (typically in Rust and Python) to support our growing fleet of self-designed/built charging stations being deployed across Europe. You will also design and implement backend-to-backend systems connecting the Qwello systems with the services of Qwello's partners. Reliability and craftsmanship are important to you, so you design with automatic testability, resilience, introspection & observability in mind. Security is important to you. You are an efficient engineer, focused on the fast execution of your craft. You are a good communicator, a free thinker, have an inquisitive mindset, and an eye for detail. You enjoy sharing your knowledge with your colleagues and mentoring junior team members. Your Responsibilities 🚀
- Design and implement new web applications and serverless code in Rust and Python
- Drive the transformation of our system architecture to meet our business needs and scale to our goals
- Take part in strategic and execution planning, code reviews, design reviews, and hiring
- Maintain and improve the Qwello backend as part of the Applications team
- Work in close collaboration with our partners to integrate our services with theirs
- Take ownership, along with the rest of the team, for building and refining our service as the business expands
Your Profile ✨
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer implementing complex, larger projects
- Expert-level Python implementation skills
- Experience with Rust as a development language would be a big plus; the willingness to learn it is a must
- Solid experience with architecting & implementing distributed systems
- Hands-on off-premise cloud experience, preferably AWS, but Azure, Google Cloud, or similar via laC (Terraform) is also great
- A make-it-happen attitude, helping the team to deliver on changing the world from combustion to electric
- Ability to self-organize and lead in an environment of changing priorities; willingness to work on multiple tasks/content switching
- Fluency in English; German language knowledge is a nice-to-have
