About the team
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of our Consumer Teams at mobile.de working with customer engagement products. We are looking for a skilled Backend developer to join us; someone who can solve complex engineering problems with a strong user focus and loves to work with passionate and engaged people in one of the world’s leading automotive platforms. You will work in an agile and cross-functional team together with frontend and native app engineers, a product owner, a UX designer, a product analyst and CRM experts to enable our customers to find their dream vehicle.
What you’ll do
Build a phenomenal product for our users in a pragmatic, agile and scalable way
Develop and maintain backend solutions for our consumer-facing applications
Holistically own the entire development and release cycle from specification to running in production together with your cross-functional team
Be an active and engaged partner for product, UX, business and your peers.
Ensure the quality of your product because you understand that quality is the responsibility of the entire team
Dedicate up to 30% of working time to maintain the code quality and contribute to initiatives related to application improvements and best practices
Stay up-to-date with industry trends. Learn new tech and non-tech related skills to grow yourself and your team
Participate in design decisions and code reviews
Who you are
You have at least 2-3 years of experience developing Java/Spring Boot based backend services
You have experience with relational, non-relational and object databases like MySQL and MongoDB
You have working experience with ElasticSearch
You know how messaging systems (e.g. Kafka) work and have used them successfully
You have knowledge about supporting build and deploy technologies (e.g. Maven/Gradle, Docker)
You have experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred)
Agile development methodologies and continuous improvement of your team are your preferred way of working
You have strong communication skills and you are fluent in English (German is a plus)
