Senior Backend Developer - Node.js

We're looking for a BACKEND DEVELOPER WITH NODE.JS to join our team!

As a Backend Engineer you’ll be part of the development of core platform systems that expose data for desktop and mobile applications.

We’re looking for engineers with an appetite for solving complex and interesting problems to world-class standards.

Note: Depending on the project and our clients' needs, you may get the chance to pack your bags and take off every now and then. Typically, we estimate travel time to be between 0% and 15%.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Developing performant, resilient and secure services/functions;
• Building and handling asynchronous and event-driven workflows;
• Creating testable code and making testing a priority;
• Being passionate, self-driven and working with little supervision towards a common team or company purpose;
• Caring about all the steps your code goes through from your machine to production.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of work experience in software engineering;
• Experience working with JavaScript and TypeScript on the backend, with frameworks like Node.js, NestJS, NextJS, Heroku, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda;
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL data stores;
• Experience working with deploy tools: CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis;
• Knowledge of protocols and architectural patterns like HTTP, REST and/or GraphQL;
• Knowledge about service oriented architectures, design patterns and data structures;
• Familiarity working with code versioning tools like Git in a continuous delivery process;
• Experience using code quality tools like linters, type checkers and static analysers;
• Experience using cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure;
• Previous experience in frontend development with React/Next.JS is a plus;
• Comfortable with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban;
• Fluency in English.
