ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team. This role is primarily backend-focused, working on scalable, production-grade systems built in .NET, backed by SQL databases, and integrated with a PHP Laravel frontend.
You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing backend services and APIs, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability across our applications. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend developers, product, and operations while helping set technical standards and mentoring junior engineers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET (C#).
· Build and maintain RESTful APIs consumed by PHP Laravel applications and other internal services.
· Design, optimize, and maintain SQL database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
· Ensure performance, reliability, security, and scalability of backend systems.
· Integrate third-party services and internal systems via APIs.
· Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making, and code reviews.
· Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications and databases.
· Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver features end-to-end.
· Mentor junior and mid-level developers and promote best engineering practices.
· Contribute to improving development workflows, tooling, and system observability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
· 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
· Strong, hands-on experience with .NET / C# in production environments.
· Strong knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including query optimization, indexing strategies, and data modeling.
· Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
· Familiarity working alongside PHP Laravel frontends (integration-focused; frontend development not required).
· Solid understanding of software architecture, backend design patterns, and best practices.
· Experience with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
· Ability to work effectively in an Agile or iterative development environment.
NICE TO HAVE (NOT MANDATORY)
· Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable).
· Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.
· Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
· Experience optimizing high-volume or performance-sensitive systems.
· Exposure to AI-powered applications or backend automation.
