In This Role
In this role, you act as the technical sales lead for cloud platform adoption within a mission-driven customer segment. You will work closely with account executives, product leaders, CTOs, and specialized cloud partners to accelerate the adoption of cloud, data, and AI services. Your work directly influences revenue, pipeline growth, and long-term customer cloud consumption. You will translate business models into scalable technical strategies, lead executive-level conversations, run technical workshops, remove blockers, and create a clear path to cloud modernization for software development companies serving social impact organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Technical Leadership
- Serve as the technical lead for cloud opportunities, shaping architecture and consumption plans.
- Run 100-level and 200-level technical conversations with CTOs, CPOs, CIOs, and other executives.
- Lead workshops, demos, discovery sessions, and solution deep dives with customer engineering teams.
- Drive cloud consumption by building deployment plans, POCs, and adoption roadmaps.
- Unlock new opportunities by proactively identifying customer needs and technical blockers.
- Position cloud services effectively against competitive platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake, etc.).
Customer & Executive Engagement
- Engage with CEOs, CTOs, CFOs, Heads of Product, and technical teams from software development companies.
- Align customer business models with cloud capabilities to maximize impact and scalability.
- Communicate technical solutions in simple business language tailored for executive audiences.
- Build relationships that strengthen long-term cloud adoption and solution expansion.
Partner & Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with account executives to co-sell and advance deals through the pipeline.
- Collaborate with specialized cloud partners to deliver scalable technical engagements.
- Help take opportunities from early qualification (Stage 2) to deeper technical validation (Stage 3).
- Ensure seamless coordination across internal teams, partners, and customer stakeholders.
Business Analysis & Pipeline Management
- Conduct whitespace and portfolio analysis to uncover new growth areas.
- Maintain accurate CRM hygiene in Dynamics (or similar systems) with dates, stages, revenue, and probability.
- Build consumption-focused account plans and forecasts aligned with business priorities.
- Report pipeline progress and ensure data accuracy for leadership visibility.
Customer Success & Innovation
- Develop cloud adoption roadmaps that align with customer priorities and scalable architecture.
- Share technical wins, playbooks, and best practices across the team for repeatable success.
- Support innovation showcases, case studies, and partner-led execution to drive momentum.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall professional experience in technical sales, cloud solutions, or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience selling cloud solutions (preferably Azure or any major hyperscaler).
- 8+ years of experience leading technical conversations with CTOs, CIOs, Chief Data Officers, and Chief Security Officers.
- Strong technical expertise in cloud data, AI, infrastructure, and security workloads.
- Proven experience driving cloud consumption, building POCs, and creating adoption roadmaps.
- Strong executive-level communication and consultative sales skills.
- Experience managing pipeline, forecasting, and CRM discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AZ-900, DP-900, AI-900, or advanced cloud architecture certs).
- Experience positioning cloud offerings competitively against AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake, or Salesforce.
- Experience working with software development companies (ISVs or SDCs) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and how cloud services enable scale.
- Experience collaborating with partner ecosystems to deliver technical engagements.
- Background in technical storytelling, value-based selling, or cloud economics.
Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $100,000 to $120,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
