Senior Azure Operation Engineer

IQVIA is looking for a Sr Cloud Operations Engineer to be part of our Cloud Operations team. You will help to develop, build, and support critical development and production environments for IQVIA in both the AWS and Azure public cloud environments. This is a technical position that requires experience of operations and support across multiple disciplines in the public cloud, including servers, database, network, and containers. You will work with other engineers and architects in the Cloud Operations team to provide both deployment and support services for our internal business units.

Responsibilities:

• Administration and creation of AWS accounts & Azure subscriptions including management of hub & spoke environment.

• Create and manage Service Control Policies and Azure Policies

• Administration of users, groups, roles and security within AWS/Azure IAM

• Administration and reporting within Cloudhealth, as well as assisting users with features.

• Create and maintain IaC terraform templates and Gitlab pipelines to automate services and eliminate repetitive manual tasks using API's.

• Perform daily operations duties such as planning and implementing changes, checking automation job status, responding to alerts and events.

• Continual review and execution of cost optimization opportunities and regular cost reporting and management.

• Manage keys, security configurations, agents, backup/recovery, patching, storage accounts/S3.

• Create, manage, and monitor alerts, as well as continually reviewing and enhancing monitoring process and tools in CloudWatch, Splunk, Azure Monitor, Datadog.

• Create, document, and automate operations processes.

• Assist and provide input during client application installs and POC and act as Cloud SME on project teams.

• Create and maintain VPC subnets, route tables, VPN's and security groups, transit gateways. When required, troubleshoot network issues including routing, DNS and other.

• Manage instance build process and AMI/AIB images for both Windows and Linux platforms.

• Serve as escalation resource for compute OS level issues.

• Monitor and address incidents, requests, changes and problems.

Requirements and Key Skills:

• 5+ years of senior level system administration experience with Windows and Linux operating systems administration, networking concepts and protocols, and basic scripting skills

• 3+ years of experience administering public cloud and hybrid workloads.

• AWS or Azure Administrator Certification

• Understanding of public cloud PaaS services including AWS ECS, AKS, Databricks or other.

• Scripting and automation experience: Powershell, CLI interfaces, Cloud Native API’s, REST API’s

•  Understanding of DevOps tools and continuous pipeline (CI/CD). Gitlab, ADO experience is a plus.

• Understanding of configuration management/IaC platforms like CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).

• Experience deploying and supporting medium to large IaaS, PaaS environments.

• Understanding of cloud emerging technologies and cloud security.

• Knowledge/experience with monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch, Splunk, CloudHealth, Datadog, Azure Monitor,

• Experience with Cloud Identity Providers (e.g. Azure Entra AD) Highly desirable

•  ITIL Foundation Certification or higher

• Technical expertise with security, compliance (e.g. SOC, PCI, HiTrust) and privacy (e.g., HIPAA) a plus • Experience working in a regulated environment.
