Senior Azure Data Engineer - ASAP Start - Brussels - Freelance / CDI

A leading organization is embarking on a transformative journey to implement Microsoft Fabric across its data infrastructure. We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to lead this initiative, establish best practices, and coach internal teams through structured knowledge transfer.

In the initial phase, you will be responsible for laying the technical foundation, building scalable pipelines, and demonstrating optimal implementation strategies. As the project matures, leadership will transition to internal stakeholders, and your role will evolve into ongoing development or support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full-cycle implementation of Microsoft Fabric, from setup to production deployment.
• Design and implement a Medallion Architecture aligned with industry standards.
• Build scalable and reliable data pipelines using Python notebooks and Fabric Data Engineering tools.
• Integrate DevOps practices into the data development lifecycle.
• Conduct hands-on coaching sessions, workshops, and structured training for internal teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover and long-term sustainability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience deploying Microsoft Fabric in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Medallion Architecture and Fabric-based data solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and notebook-based development workflows.
