Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer with experience deploying complex systems to the cloud. You will be a key member of the team delivering and supporting cloud automation, platforms, services, and applications. 

We are looking for a self-starter, motivated by solving unique problems and using leading-edge technologies to automate builds, deployments & migrations of enterprise solutions to Azure. To be able to troubleshoot and assess workloads, identify dependencies, as well as an ability to review IaC to locate imperfections. This is a hands-on role where there is an expectation that the role holder can formulate the designs themselves as well as collaborating with other less experienced engineers within the team to complete deployments. 

This role is required to work EMEA hours. 

There will be a strong focus on DevOps, including: 

• The ability to read and understand already deployed code, identifying and correcting non best practice code and curating templates for future reuse. 
• Experience with version-controlled Infrastructure as code (Either Terraform, ARM templates or Bicep). 
• Conducting pull requests and contributing to peer reviews of engineer code. 
• Implementing deployment pipelines, runbooks and other CI/CD activities. 

Effective communication and collaboration are critical to this role, you will work closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring continuous engagement and collaboration.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform / ARM templates or Bicep.

• Create concisely written, high-quality documentation, runbooks, deployment instructions and design diagrams. 
• Ensure solutions adhere to compliance, governance and security standards / develop policies for resource management, cost control and security.
• Follow ITIL standards including change control and peer reviews. 

Qualifications

Key Competencies: 

• Significant experience with deploying and managing Azure network environments. 
• Experience with on-premises technologies like Citrix, VMware Technologies. 
• Experience with deployment of production-grade system connectivity and routing. 
• Experience with migrations from on-premises to cloud application discovery, data & database discovery, dependency mapping and network latency assessment. 
• Experience integrating Azure Services with on-premises solutions using services like Private Link/endpoints & private DNS. 
• Experience with hybrid networking connectivity services, such as ExpressRoute and S2S VPN. 
• Experience with cloud monitoring and reporting systems such as log analytics, Azure Monitor and application insights. 
• Experience configuring and monitoring Azure Firewalls, NSGs, ASG, Load Balancers & Traffic Manager. 
• Experience with Azure VMware Solution desirable. 
• Demonstrable experience with Azure Landing Zones / Well Architected Framework / Cloud Adoption Framework. 

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator 
• Exam AZ-400: Designing & Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions. 
• ITIL Foundation
