Senior AWS Devops Engineer

Overview

SwapAgent is an LSEG service designed to simplify the processing, margining, and settlement of non-cleared derivatives. SwapAgent benefits from LCH’s expertise in serving and managing risk for the cleared Rates and FX derivatives market, providing market participants with several solutions designed to materially improve standardisation, efficiency, and simplicity in the non-cleared derivatives market.

Role

As part of the day to day running of the platform, we are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer with PostgreSQL knowledge to join SwapAgent Development team based in London. An ideal candidate would have a strong development background in AWS and programming/scripting experience with exposure to DevOps and Agile frameworks, PostgreSQL expertise is a benefit.

Roles at Senior Associate level apply technical knowledge to design, build, and improve software and infrastructure. Scope includes working more independently, contributing to team design decisions, and taking responsibility for the quality of delivered work. The impact is increasing delivery speed, system reliability, and shared team knowledge.

Required skills and experience.

• At least 3 years of proven experience working on AWS preferably EC2, RDS, Aurora, IAM, Route 53 etc.
• Good knowledge of Lambda, Security Groups, AWS Monitoring, DataDog, Resource Tagging
• Experience with AWS network setup and internal Firewall requests.
• Excellent knowledge on building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Ansible
• Excellent knowledge on infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.
• Good knowledge of Git/Linux/Unix & Shell scripting
• Excellent team player
• Highly pragmatic and delivery focused, “can do” attitude.
• Takes ownership for delivery and is a self-starter.

Desirable skills

• GitLab and deploying/managing containerized applications in AWS.
• Working with other teams to produce requirements and solve problems with new AWS functionality.
• Knowledge of LDAP AD Groups and FSX would be a bonus.
• At least 2 years of experience with PostgreSQL, preferably some with Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Good knowledge of one of the major programming/scripting languages such as Python or Java.

• Ability to think through the requirements and provide thorough analysis, design & development.
• Timely delivery of developments to a high standard and quality
• Provide support to the internal teams where necessary to promote the changes to Production successfully.
• Provide good documentation.
