Senior AWS Cloud Architect

Your role:
Working as a technical consultant and architect for customers through project work. Communicating, designing and guiding the implementations for our customer cloud solutions as well as doing hands-on implementation when needed. Helping engineers and other technical roles to build successful outcomes that meet the customers’ needs. Working together with sales and project managers to manage the customer expectations from a technical and operational point of view. Educating customers on best practices in the public cloud and communicating solution offerings in a manner that customers understand the value within them.

In practice, your work includes:

• Gathering requirements and designing technical infrastructure architectures based on customer needs
• Working with cloud infrastructure in enterprise environments
• Documenting and communicating solutions, deliverables, and the impact of architectural decisions to various stakeholders
• Understanding, communicating, and implementing cloud architecture best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles
• Designing, implementing, and taking ownership of technical solutions
• Applying DevOps principles and best practices
• Identifying new business opportunities for Nordcloud within customer engagements
• Maintaining up-to-date skills and technical knowledge in line with market and customer needs
• Sharing knowledge with colleagues, the wider community, and partners
• As we work on projects both in Finland and internationally, some willingness to travel within Finland and occasionally across Europe is required

Your key skills:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK
• Experience with serverless computing technologies such as AWS Lambda and AWS Fargate
• Experience with multi-account AWS environments, including Landing Zones and Cloud Foundations
• Experience with cloud security concepts and services, including KMS, IAM, and AWS WAF/Shield
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI/CD
• Experience with enterprise networking and VPN solutions in hybrid and/or multi-cloud environments
• Experience with cloud migration projects from on-premises environments or other cloud providers to AWS, including tools such as AWS Migration Evaluator
• Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English

At this level, the individual is recognized as a trusted advisor and role model, consistently introducing new ideas, challenging the status quo, and identifying opportunities for improvement. They provide technical leadership, influence strategic decisions, and actively coach and mentor others, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth across teams.

What sets you apart (we’d consider any of these as a big plus):

• Familiarity with compliance, governance in enterprise environments, cloud in general, working with security and compliance frameworks, processes
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional and other AWS Certificates
• Experience from hybrid environments (on-premises, AWS Outpost, Azure Arc, Google Anthos, multi-cloud)
• Generative AI on AWS experience

The successful candidate is expected to go through a security clearance.
