Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to work closely with the Core Web and Core Platform engineering teams on a major platform modernization initiative. The project involves a headless frontend and backend service migration, requiring a proactive quality engineering approach to identify risks, close quality gaps, and ensure production readiness before launch.

In this role, you will own risk-based test strategies, build and maintain end-to-end and API automation suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines, and partner with developers to establish strong testing practices and shared quality ownership. The ideal candidate combines hands-on automation expertise with sound technical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Core Web and Core Platform engineering teams throughout planning, development, testing, and release.

  • Conduct risk analysis for new features, system changes, and backend migrations to determine testing priorities and coverage.

  • Identify and address quality gaps across headless frontend applications and backend services before launch.

  • Build, maintain, and improve end-to-end automated test suites using Playwright or Cypress with TypeScript or JavaScript.

  • Develop and maintain automated API tests to validate backend services, integrations, and system behavior.

  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, repeatable release validation.

  • Collaborate with developers to improve testability, promote quality ownership, and embed testing practices throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Define quality metrics, release criteria, and validation strategies to assess launch readiness.

  • Use AI-assisted tools to support test design, automation development, and testing efficiency.

  • Communicate risks, defects, coverage gaps, and release concerns clearly to engineering stakeholders.

  • Continuously improve automation coverage, testing processes, and quality engineering practices.

Qualifications and Job Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software QA for web applications and backend systems, with demonstrated ownership of testing strategy and quality outcomes.

  • Hands-on experience with web end-to-end automation using Playwright or Cypress and TypeScript or JavaScript.

  • Experience with API test automation using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or code-based testing frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of risk-based testing, test strategy, and test coverage prioritization.

  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with developers as a quality partner and coach, promoting shared ownership rather than functioning solely as a manual tester.

  • Experience using AI-assisted tools for test design and automation.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Fluent English, with the ability to collaborate directly with distributed engineering teams.
