The Senior Product Owner role will focus on leading client interactions with Product Managers and business stakeholders, understanding both client business requirements as well as end-user functional requirements, and may manage multiple product owners that have delivery targeted towards a single product or solution. In situations where a Senior Product Owner is supporting multiple delivery streams, that person has sole responsibility and ownership of the product in its entirety.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a core member of the product team or scrum team to convey functional requirements, create/groom user stories, prioritize the product backlog, and engage in testing efforts.
  • Partner with stakeholders, clients, and product managers to understand the requirements, capabilities, and user experience.
  • Ensure engagement and ongoing involvement from the cross-functional team (Sales, TechOps, Customer Success, Marketing, etc.) to provide a continuous feedback loop into the product development process.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, and product managers to align product roadmaps against known dependencies.
  • Define, prioritize, and own the product backlog to reflect the solution scope, vision, and roadmap.
  • Conduct the final user acceptance testing and sign-off of a given user story upon completion of development of requirements.
  • Participate in daily development team standups and iteration sprint planning sessions to represent the product requirements and respond to any questions regarding the feature set.
  • Participate in weekly scrum meetings.
  • Organize and facilitate presentations to business stakeholders for product demos.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with identifying and reporting on key performance indicators to help visualize the efficacy of product enhancements
  • Ability to define high-level business objectives and drive product roadmaps
  • Comfort engaging with executive stakeholders in dialogue regarding product vision and business enablement
  • Expertise in product backlog tools such as Rally and Jira
  • Expertise in collaboration suites, including Confluence and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with UX knowledge and principles is beneficial
  • Experience with detailed roadmapping techniques (MoSCoW, Pareto, Kano Model)
Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 to 7 years of working experience in like field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in agile and Scrum development organizations
  • Certification - Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) required
  • Working knowledge of product backlog tools such as Rally and Jira
  • Experience with Platforms like Appian, Pega, ServiceNow, RPA is required
  • Working knowledge of collaboration suites including Confluence and SharePoint
  • Ability to translate high-level business objectives into detailed functional requirements
  • Familiarity with UX knowledge and principles is beneficial
  • Wealth management, financial services, and mobile applications are a plus
  • Understanding of application-related projects and changes
  • Lead calls with business stakeholders independently
  • Ability to break down a product feature into stories
  • Experience in identifying and creating artifacts needed to represent the business requirements for a product (example: process flows, stories, interaction diagrams, matrices)
  • Experience creating templates for requirements artifacts (example: process flows, stories, interaction diagrams, matrices) that junior resources can leverage to produce deliverables
  • You understand how to write complete user stories that can be picked up for development with minimal changes.
  • You are able to consult with and collaborate with developers on how to break stories down
  • Aptitude to understand product architecture and technical components
  • Experience conducting product demos
  • Experience conducting product user training
  • You understand agile principles and can lead a scrum meeting when necessary

    The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $73,008 to $170,640. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
