Job Description: Senior QA Automation Engineer
(Playwright + TypeScript)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA
Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright using TypeScript to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible
for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks and
ensuring high-quality software delivery through robust test automation
practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design,
develop, and maintain end-to-end test automation scripts using Playwright
and TypeScript.
- Build
and enhance reusable automation frameworks aligned with best engineering
practices.
- Collaborate
closely with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams
to understand requirements and define test strategies.
- Develop
automated test suites covering functional, regression, API, integration,
and UI testing.
- Integrate
automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous testing
initiatives.
- Analyze
test execution results, identify root causes, and work with development
teams to resolve defects.
- Participate
in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies.
- Ensure
automation coverage across critical business workflows and improve overall
test efficiency.
- Mentor
junior QA engineers and drive automation best practices within the team.
Required Skills
Mandatory
- 5+
years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
- Expert-level
experience in Playwright with TypeScript.
- Strong
understanding of automated UI and API testing.
- Hands-on
experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks from
scratch.
- Experience
with REST API testing tools and frameworks.
- Proficiency
in TypeScript/JavaScript programming.
- Experience
with Git version control systems.
- Strong
knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience
with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or
equivalent.
- Strong
debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience
in cloud-based testing environments.
- Knowledge
of performance testing concepts.
- Experience
with SQL and database validation.
- Exposure
to Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity
with BDD frameworks and reporting tools.
- Experience
working in enterprise-scale applications.
Technical Expectations
The candidate should demonstrate:
- Ability
to create and scale Playwright automation frameworks for large
applications.
- Expertise
in Page Object Model (POM) and framework design patterns.
- Implementation
of parallel execution, custom reporting, retry mechanisms, and test data
management.
- API
automation capabilities integrated with UI automation suites.
- Strong
understanding of test architecture, maintainability, and code quality
practices.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's
degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a
related field.
