Your new role

As our new Senior Automation engineer, you will be focal towards the clients, suppliers, and projects. As focal, you will be responsible for e.g., field instrumentation, automation systems, safety systems, network, fire & gas detection and interfaces towards mechanical & electrical packages and Supplier/Vendor management/engagement.

Your key responsibilities could include:

  • Act as discipline lead/project manager on multidiscipline projects along with project team
  • Liaison with clients and suppliers 
  • Perform specification and design of automation systems e.g.:
    • Overall system topology and interfaces towards third part systems
    • SCADA, ESD/fail-safe systems or Fire and Gas
    • Field instrumentation 
  • Provide input for procurement and handle technical clarifications before and during execution phase 
  • Provide input for and participate in FAT, SAT and commissioning.
  • Inspection/visit of installations on Sites.

As our Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d), you will be part of an exceptional technical environment with 95 passionate colleagues in Denmark, Germany, and other countries. The discipline is highly experienced and delivers engineering and consultancy services on a global scale within the energy sector. 

Transition to green energy is the department’s primary focus area. Our services cover the disciplines piping, layout and mechanical. We cover all aspects of a project including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC, and follow-up engineering. You may choose between working from Hamburg, Essen, Munich, Erlangen or any other Ramboll locations in Germany.

You will work within our Discipline team and work closely with other disciplines in a collaborative environment to deliver exciting projects for our clients.

About you

These include:

  • A Bachelor’s- or Master’s degree Automation/Electrical Engineering, Electronic and computer, Information- and communication technology, Marine Engineering or similar 
  • Few years of relevant experience 
  • Excellent communication skills in English are a must 
  • Work in a structured and systematic way
  • Able to handle many stakeholders
  • We expect you have knowledge within some of the following areas: Field instrumentation, SCADA/Control, ESD/fail-safe, or Fire and Gas.
  • Experience in design or operation of power plants, oil & gas or other process industries
