Job DescriptionYou will be working directly with leading hedge fund and private equity firms in the alternative asset industry under the guidance and direction from the Tax Director. You will be providing the following for clients in the alternative asset industry:
What you’ll do
- You’ll prepare and file federal, state, and local partnership tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates, along with foreign filings (5471, 8865, 8858, 8621, 926).
- You’ll manage compliance tasks including 1099/1042 reporting, FBAR filings, FATCA (8966), and tax certification forms (W‑8s/W‑9s).
- You’ll handle entity elections by preparing 8832s, calculating tax basis for partnership interests and PFICs, and performing quarterly REIT testing.
- You’ll collaborate with clients by maintaining strong relationships, communicating engagement status, and resolving notices with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- You’ll apply tax expertise through multi‑state income tax planning, performing tax research to support positions, and ensuring accurate, timely compliance.

- The salary for this position will be dependent on experience and location ($89,000 - $100,000).
- You have 0–5 years of progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience, either in public accounting or at an alternative asset investment firm.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with CPA or a master’s in Taxation preferred.
- You demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
- You bring analytical, technical, and technology skills, with proficiency in basic office software and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, willing to work overtime when needed to meet deadlines.

Skills Required
- 0-5 years of progressive federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or at an alternative asset investment firm
