We are looking for a Senior Associate, Strategic Partnerships to lead targeted, metrics-driven engagements within our most complex and high-value oncology accounts. Operating as a strategic consultant across a defined three-phase lifecycle—Investigation, Intervention, and Monitoring—you will analyze complex account metrics, design scalable solutions, and guide accounts to targeted performance benchmarks before enabling autonomy and long-term success through training. Beyond account strategy, Senior Associates serve as team leaders and mentors: setting operational standards, coaching Associates, leading peer training, and leveraging advanced AI tooling to scale team efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Architect, collaborate on, and facilitate the execution of metrics-driven support strategies for high-priority accounts across the Investigation, Intervention, and Monitoring phases.
- Analyze complex account datasets to identify macro-trends, solve root-cause operational challenges and identify workflow inefficiencies, and translate successful strategies into scalable improvements for the customer.
- Direct Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and account touchpoints, serving as the primary strategic liaison between clinical staff, pathology labs, and internal teams.
- Manage account "enablement” – training and upskilling internal field and sales teams to maintain long-term account health.
- Serve as a leader and mentor to Associates by conducting team training, showcasing account success case studies, coaching on new tools/methodologies, and modeling best practices.
- Champion the creation of high-caliber client deliverables, leveraging AI tools to quickly aggregate data, draft collateral, and automate manual administrative workflows.
- Conduct client site visits (typically ~1 visit per account/quarter) to lead high-stakes initiatives, drive process improvements, and attend internal company on-sites.
Required Skills
- Advanced capacity to synthesize and communicate complex genomic, scientific, and technical oncology information to executive and clinical audiences.
- Advanced data analytics capabilities, with a proven track record of extracting macro-level learnings from data to shape strategic direction, solutions, and potential strategies.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship aptitude with a desire to elevate team standards and contribute to organizational growth.
- Exceptional account management and project management expertise, adept at handling high-stakes, fast-paced clinical environments and several accounts and/or projects independently.
- Deep sophistication in navigating complex healthcare settings and guiding external teams through change management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect effectively across diverse healthcare roles (physicians, care teams, pathologists).
Required Education & Experience
- B.S. in Biology, Life Science, or a related scientific field.
- 2+ years of experience in external Account Management or Project Management.
- 2+ years of experience leveraging data and analytics to present solutions, solve complex business problems, track KPIs, and drive client outcomes.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional alignment across Sales, Commercial Operations, Customer Success, and Product/Engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications & Tools
- Advanced proficiency in AI platforms (e.g., Claude, Gemini) with knowledge of prompt engineering, capabilities, and workflow automation (e.g., rapid data aggregation, automated report generation, drafting client artifacts).
- Advanced experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and data visualization programs (e.g., BigQuery, Looker).
- Experience using project management systems, tools, or methodologies (Monday.com, Trello).
- Advanced proficiency with Google or Microsoft Suite (e.g., email, documents, spreadsheets).
- Familiarity with oncology EMR systems and clinical pathology lab workflows.
Illinois Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000
The expected salary range may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
