The Role
 

BAYADA Home Health Care has an immediate need for a full-time Paralegal Senior Associate to assist our Legal Services Department in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exemplifies characteristics of The BAYADA Way: compassion, excellence and
  • Four (4) year college degree and a paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two (2) years work experience in a related field (medical malpractice, health care professional/general liability claims management)
  • In house environment and/or law firm experience preferred
  • Ability to work on-site 5-days a week in Pennsauken, NJ; from 8:30am to 5:00pm with additional hours based on work volume and project deadlines.

  • Work semi-automatously supporting multiple team members with minimal supervision
  • Have a working knowledge of medical and legal terminology
  • Be organized and detail oriented with strong customer service skills
  • Have the ability to independently draft professional written communications
  • Be comfortable using virtual platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Be motivated to learn and take on more responsibilities in this role
  • Enjoy managing various projects with collaboration from other team members and departments

Technical skills include:

  • Incident Management
    • Develop a working knowledge of the various types of incident reports and claims handled by Legal Services.
    • Accept full responsibility for assigned incidents or claims, including accurately entering incident data into our incident management database and ensuring timely follow-up through regular interaction with offices.
    • Regularly review and analyze assigned claims, look for specific claim trends and report any concerns promptly.
  • Loss Prevention:
  • Collaborate with the LS team and other support partners which may include clinical leadership, clincal committees including the sentinel event committee.
  • Assist with preparation, review and statistical analysis of claims data and the preparation of relevant reports using Microsoft Excel and Power Point (as applicable) for quarterly presentations.
  • Participate with the Legal Services staff and other BAYADA support office staff in creatively educating individual offices or the company about loss
  • Participate, as requested, in loss prevention initiatives including the design, implementation and ongoing updates aimed to reduce financial exposure and ensuring the health and welfare of our clients. This includes:
  • Development and dissemination of educational materials and best practices, including quarterly Webinars related to incident trends, improved incident reporting processes and other educational efforts designed to educate offices, and as appropriate field staff, about high risks, problematic trends, safety/prevention measures and best practices designed to mitigate risk to BAYADA clients and the
  • Routinely identify areas for improvement or loss prevention Coordinate efforts to incorporate any adverse trends and best practice recommendations into ongoing loss prevention efforts.
