Position Summary

We are seeking a bilingual (Japanese/English) Application Support Analyst based in Japan to join our regional IT Applications team. This hybrid role combines application development—primarily on Microsoft Power Platform—with first and second-level support for both enterprise applications and Power Platform solutions tailored for in-house use. The ideal candidate will also support country-level financial reporting using Excel and ensure seamless data integration with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Anaplan.

Key Responsibilities

Development (Power Platform):

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
  • Enhance existing Power Platform solutions to improve performance and usability.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with governance policies.
  • Test source code and debug applications to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Evaluate existing applications and implement updates or modifications as needed.
  • Develop technical documentation and handbooks to represent the design and code of new applications.

Application Integration:

  • Support integration of third-party applications with Power Platform, such as Concur, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, DocuSign, SafetyCulture, and internal operations systems.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to configure and maintain connectors and APIs.
  • Monitor integration workflows and resolve any issues related to data flow or automation.

Application Support (Level 1 & 2):

  • Provide first and second-level support for enterprise applications and Power Platform-based in-house solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, escalating to development or infrastructure teams when necessary.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Maintain documentation for support procedures, known issues, and resolutions.
  • Assist in user training and onboarding for new applications.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and data visualization.
  • Hands-on integration experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services.
  • Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2, API keys) and integration security best practices is a plus
  • Experience with application support tools and ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Anaplan, and Concur is a plus.
  • Basic scripting or programming knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, Python) is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Understanding of finance processes and general knowledge of the renewable energy industry is desired.

Language Skills: Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written) to support local users and collaborate with regional teams.
