About the role
You are the person at Fasset who decides whether a growth number is true, what it means, and what to do about it, across every surface growth touches. AI does the analysis. You do the judgment. When leadership moves money, enters a market, or publishes a claim, the number underneath it carries your name.
The surface you own
- Attribution, or: where growth actually comes from. UTM discipline enforced across every campaign, link, and partner (one taxonomy, no exceptions, because attribution built on inconsistent tagging is fiction with charts). Beyond tagging: you own the honesty layer of attribution itself. Last-click flatters retargeting; platform-reported conversions flatter the platform. You run the incrementality checks (holdouts, geo tests, spend-pause reads) that tell us what a channel actually causes versus what it claims credit for, and channel budgets move on your read.
- Social and content, measured like a channel, not a vibe. Which content angles produce funded users, not impressions: the enemy-narrative posts versus product demos versus founder content versus market-specific creative, tracked from view to first deposit. Creator and organic performance versus paid, per market. When the content engine ships a campaign, you are the one who can say "this angle converts in Pakistan and dies in Indonesia" with lineage, and the next brief changes because of it.
- Retention and cohorts, the half of growth that acquisition hides. Cohort retention curves by market, channel, and entry product; where the funnel actually leaks (activation, first deposit, second transaction, month two); which acquisition sources produce users who stay versus users who visit. You make LTV a measured number instead of a projection, and you are the person who says out loud when a cheap channel is expensive because its users evaporate.
- Loops, not just funnels. The referral program's real K-factor and cycle time, measured honestly (invited users who fund, not invites sent). Where compounding loops exist or could: remittance recipients becoming senders, merchants bringing customers, buildathon builders bringing users, family accounts spawning accounts. Funnels spend; loops compound. You find and instrument the compounding.
- KPIs and guardrails: the canon. Every metric definition (verified versus funded, what counts as active, what a cohort is), every guardrail pair (no headline reported without the metric that catches its gaming), every P0/P1 designation, in one governed source you maintain. When two documents disagree on CAC, the canon settles it before the meeting. Success is measurable: metric disputes in leadership meetings go to zero.
- Campaigns, judged by rules set before launch. Every major campaign ships with success criteria you pre-registered: the target, the guardrail, the kill threshold, the read date. No more deciding what success meant after seeing the results. You run the post-reads and the honest write-ups, including the failures, and the next campaign's design changes because of them.
- Three motions, three scoreboards. B2C funnel economics per market. B2B pipeline and activation (fewer, bigger, slower numbers, judged completely differently). B2B2C partner performance: which partners bring users who fund and stay, cost per partner-sourced funded user, partner cohort quality. You keep leadership from averaging three businesses into one misleading number.
- The fraud tripwire, across all of it. Bot inflation, gamed denominators, incentive abuse in referral programs, partners optimizing to the bounty instead of the user. You build the automated tripwires and personally chase what they catch. Target: caught within one reporting cycle, not discovered by accident.
- The receipts. Every quantified claim Fasset makes in public is re-verified quarterly, sources on file, before external use. When our annual report publishes, every number in it was certified by you before a journalist checked it.
You are probably right for this role if
- You have caught a number everyone else accepted, and can tell the story with specifics: what smelled wrong, how you proved it, what changed.
- You have moved real budget with an incrementality argument, and can explain to a smart non-analyst why last-click lied.
- You think in guardrail pairs by reflex: for every headline metric you have ever loved, you can name what someone would game to inflate it.
- You treat AI tooling as leverage you direct: you can articulate exactly where you stop trusting model output and why.
- You can hold a definition argument with a CGO and win it with lineage, politely, and concede in thirty seconds when the lineage goes against you.
- Fintech, crypto, marketplace, or consumer-app background where fraud, attribution, and retention problems were real, not theoretical.
You are probably wrong for this role if
- Your portfolio is dashboards and decks. We do not pay salaries for output a model produces in minutes.
- Your attribution experience is reading platform dashboards and believing them.
- You need tickets and a queue. This role writes its own queue from the tripwires, the campaign calendar, and the decision calendar.
- You want to be right quietly. The role certifies numbers to leadership in writing and is accountable when one is wrong.
Skills Required
- Proven track record catching and proving incorrect growth metrics, with specific examples of investigation and impact
- Designing and running incrementality experiments (holdouts, geo tests, spend-pause reads)
- Strong attribution discipline: taxonomy enforcement and honest attribution assessment beyond platform-reported conversions
- Experience measuring social and content as acquisition channels and comparing creator/organic vs paid performance
- Cohort retention analysis, funnel leakage diagnosis, and measured LTV calculation by market/channel
- Designing and implementing automated fraud tripwires and investigating fraud/abuse findings
- Setting pre-registered campaign success criteria, running post-reads, and documenting honest learnings
- Metric governance: owning definitions, guardrail pairs, and a single source of truth for KPIs
- Ability to influence leadership and move budget using incrementality and cohort evidence; clear communicator to non-analysts
- Experience in fintech, crypto, marketplace, or consumer apps where fraud, attribution, and retention issues were real
- Comfort using AI tooling as leverage and clear judgment about when to distrust model output
