The New York based ECS team is focused on North American renewable energy and commodities clients supporting their financing needs in line with the IB&M purpose as they navigate the global shift to a low carbon economy.
As a Senior Associate / Associate Director you will play a direct role in client portfolio management activities for North America. The role presents a great opportunity to take an important role within an established team covering a client base of leading renewable energy developers, corporates and investors as they contribute to the energy transition.
Do work that matters:
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Support senior bankers in managing and developing client relationships, identifying opportunities and delivering effective client engagement strategies.
- Analyse, structure and execute financing transactions, including sourcing and modelling client information to develop solutions within appropriate risk parameters.
- Build, review and manipulate complex project finance models to support transaction analysis, structuring and client recommendations.
- Prepare credit submissions and annual reviews, and manage ongoing portfolio activities including consents, waivers, amendments, covenant breaches and reporting.
- Coordinate deal teams and work closely with Product, Credit Risk, Legal, KYC and Operations throughout the transaction lifecycle, from initial pitch through to execution and ongoing management.
- Support transaction execution through pricing analysis, review of transaction and legal documentation, approval processes and establishment of limits.
- Maintain accurate client, risk, transaction and pipeline information, while supporting KYC and client onboarding requirements.
- Operate within the Bank’s risk appetite and regulatory framework, while contributing to a collaborative, proactive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
We are interested in hearing from people who have:
- 3–6 years’ experience in corporate or investment banking, with exposure to the natural resources and energy sectors, particularly renewables and commodities.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry sectors, market dynamics and the key commercial drivers affecting clients.
- Strong financial modelling, financial and risk analysis, research and analytical skills.
- Broad understanding of banking products, including corporate finance, debt capital markets, global markets and risk management, cash management and payments.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted client and stakeholder relationships, anticipate client needs and collaborate effectively across an organisation.
- Sound understanding of regulatory and control frameworks, KYC and risk management requirements, with the ability to review and interpret complex legal documentation.
The salary range for this role is from $145,000 to $200,000. The salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
