The Senior Applications Analyst is responsible for applying past experience and industry standards in the planning, organizing, and execution of Business Needs Assessments (commonly referred to as Business Requirements) for the development and enhancement of enterprise application capabilities that are cost effective, scalable, and aligned with business needs. This role supports and optimizes Oracle Cloud ERP applications, including Financials and Procurement solutions.
The Senior Applications Analyst may engage in the solutioning of complex functional and technical challenges and recommend, configure, and implement Oracle Cloud ERP system capabilities to support complex business processes and project objectives. This includes partnering with business and IT stakeholders to translate financial, accounting, and operational requirements into effective system designs and configurations.
The Senior Applications Analyst plays a sustained role throughout the full Development Lifecycle, including gathering and documenting business requirements, creating use case scenarios, modeling end to end business and financial processes, and supporting solution design, testing, and deployment. The role also contributes to planning and governance activities to ensure that delivered solutions—particularly within Oracle Fusion SaaS ERP Financials and Procurement—meet business, compliance, and reporting requirements while enabling efficient, accurate, and scalable financial and operational processes.
Responsibilities- Works independently and provides thought leadership in assisting the business with defining and refining project vision, scope, risks, assumptions, and stakeholder alignment for Oracle Cloud ERP initiatives, with minimal oversight.
- Leads the planning, coordination, and development of comprehensive functional documentation, including Business Requirements, Functional and Technical Design Documents, Use Cases, Process Models, Business Needs Assessments, and Conceptual Designs, specifically supporting Oracle Cloud ERP Financials and Procurement, primarily across GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Procure to Pay processes.
- Independently gathers, analyzes, and validates complex business and accounting requirements; evaluates existing and proposed solutions; and drives the design, configuration, and enhancement of Oracle Cloud ERP Financials and Procurement applications.
- Performs advanced dependency analysis, functional and workflow design, use case modeling, data modeling, and end to end process analysis, with a deep understanding of current state and future state business rules across general ledger and subledger accounting, financial transactions, and operational finance processes.
- Partners with technical and integration teams to support and validate data flows across Oracle Cloud ERP modules (including GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management), ensuring data integrity, accurate accounting outcomes, and alignment with financial control and audit requirements.
- As a senior contributor, adopts a growth mindset and serves as a driver for change by guiding the team on new Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities and quarterly SaaS enhancements. Demonstrates flexibility to take on additional responsibilities and expand across functional areas as needed.
- Acts as a senior contributor within the testing discipline by partnering with the Test Lead to define test strategy, test planning, data validation approaches, incident analysis, QA, and UAT for complex, cross module Oracle Cloud ERP scenarios.
- Leverages deep knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP system behavior, metadata, and data structures to guide efficient and effective testing approaches, including transaction validation, subledger to GL reconciliation, and end to end process validation.
- Independently plans and manages all aspects of the requirements discipline, including effort estimation, feasibility analysis, executive and stakeholder reporting, change request management, issue and risk tracking, process improvement initiatives, and project planning for enterprise Oracle Cloud ERP systems.
- Provides senior level support throughout the project lifecycle, including issue resolution, break/fix and hot fix support, incident triage, and ongoing maintenance of requirements traceability and functional documentation for Oracle Cloud ERP solutions.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to business and finance leadership by staying current with Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities, proactively identifying opportunities to automate, standardize, and optimize financial and procurement processes.
- 4+ years of professional work experience with Oracle Cloud ERP products, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience performing business and functional analysis in complex Oracle Cloud ERP environments, supporting large cross functional teams consisting of Finance, Accounting, IT, and executive leadership.
- Experience applying both process driven and data driven structured analysis techniques to design, evaluate, and optimize solutions across Oracle Cloud ERP, particularly for core financial and reporting processes.
- Has a deep understanding of general accounting and auditing principles and the concepts of accounting in ERP systems. Should be extremely knowledgeable in financial concepts such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Has a good understanding of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and related concepts. Experience working with integrations designed and developed in OIC is required.
- Excellent communication, influence, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business objectives, project scope, functional requirements, and solution designs for Oracle Cloud ERP initiatives to audiences at all levels, including executive leadership.

Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
