Responsibilities:
- Lead the analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Seamlessly integrate third-party products to enhance system functionality.
- Convert complex technical specifications into robust code for new projects and enhancements. Develop programs, write code, create test artifacts, and generate comprehensive reports. Utilize advanced software development techniques to ensure automated testing.
- Manage the elevation of code across development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide ongoing production support, submit change control requests, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Leverage your deep understanding of software development methodologies and architecture standards to train and mentor less experienced staff. Resolve escalated issues efficiently.
- Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the project lifecycle to identify and address issues early. Communicate technical considerations effectively in meetings with internal clients.
- Gain a thorough understanding of client business functions and technology needs. Maintain a broad knowledge of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those interfacing with business areas and systems.
- Interface with cross-functional team members and communicate system issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.
- Engage in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience, with at least one year in development.
Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Deep technical knowledge, preferably in TypeScript, Node.js, and Angular.
Demonstrated initiative and accountability in problem-solving and resolving client issues.
Ability to learn quickly and independently.
Participate in On-Call as needed.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Familiarity with GraphQL, Java, Splunk, Honeycomb, AWS, Lambdas, SQS, Stencil.js, Bruno/Postman, Jira, and Confluence.
