Position Summary: Cognitive is seeking a Sr Software Engineer with advanced knowledge of OData standards and expertise in applications programming methodologies and disciplines; Expert knowledge in system analysis and business problem-solving; Proficient with business reporting; Advanced Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) in Microsoft SQL and Oracle environments; Knowledge of Cloud Technologies; Experience with various Azure Cloud Services.

Duration: This is a short term contract role through 8/5/2024

Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs using OData standards to enable seamless data access and manipulation.
• Implement OData query options to optimize data retrieval and improve API performance.
• Experience in developing REST API services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define API specifications.
• Optimize API performance, security, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and debug API issues
• Ability to decrypt JSON, XML structured data into normalize data sets
• Creating high-availability applications
• Writes clean, efficient, and well documented code that adheres to software development standards and best practices
• Participates in software design and architecture discussions to ensure the software meets the functional and non-functional requirements
• Collaborates with other developers, testers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of software features and bug fixes
• Performs code reviews and provides construction feedback to other team members
• Stay updated with the latest OData specifications and best practices, and propose enhancements to existing APIs to leverage new features.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in API development, including REST and SOAP
• Experience utilizing Odata protocol
• Strong proficiency in .NET and the C# programming language.
• Knowledge of database systems and data modeling
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks quickly
• Proficiency in version control systems, especially Git
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins
• Knowledge of Azure API development and integration
• Experience working in Microsoft API web services or equivalent

Technical Skills: C#; Oracle SQL (SQL Developer); .NET Core 6+. (Rest, Micro-services, Unit Testing); SOAP and Rest architecture;

Required Education, Experience, and Clearance:

• A Master's or Bachelor's
• Ten (10) years or more experience
• Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust - Medium Background Investigation (MBI)
• Must be a US Citizen.

Nice to Have:

• 7+ years experience supporting healthcare applications
• Experience in Agile methodologies
