Job Summary:
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product Development. As a Senior Android Developer, you will play a critical leadership role in the development of our Android application. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, maintainable, and scalable Android solutions using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. This position requires both deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including backend engineers, designers, and product managers—to deliver elegant, high-quality mobile experiences to our users. In addition, you will mentor and guide junior developers, influence the technical roadmap, and help shape the future of our mobile engineering practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own the full lifecycle of Android development, from planning and design to testing, deployment, and support.
- Architect and implement scalable and maintainable Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Lead efforts in defining mobile architecture, design patterns, and modularization strategies.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, conduct code reviews, and guide technical discussions.
- Work with backend/API teams, product managers, and designers to translate business requirements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and maintain active communication.
- Optimize app performance, ensure secure coding practices, and implement testing strategies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Android architecture components and design patterns.
- Familiar with Git, CI/CD, and deployment best practices.
- Expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Experience publishing to the Google Play Store.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
