Job Description:

What will you do?

This role positions you at the intersection of business and engineering. You will collaborate with Finance, Retail, and Risk teams across NIBC, implementing complex business logic in DBT, designing and optimizing data pipelines, delivering data products, and ensuring data quality. With your expertise in DBT, SQL, Python, and modern data platforms, you will help translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in analytics engineering and the ability to implement complex business logic using DBT (Data Build Tool) and Python. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders as part of the central Data Integration team.

You will help us transition legacy data solutions to NIBC's centralized cloud data platform. This is not merely a migration exercise; we enable our business to leverage the platform to create and own their own data products. You will support them throughout this journey by gathering and refining requirements, providing expert guidance, and assisting with hands-on implementation on our cloud platform.

With every use case you deliver, you ensure value is created together with the business. You are the expert we rely on to build robust, scalable solutions, ensure data quality, and apply best practices in modelling, testing, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implementation: Implement solutions within the cloud platform, ensuring they meet both business needs and technical standards.
  • Data Modelling: Translate source data models into NIBC's centralized target data model.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure high data quality through robust design, automated testing, observability, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business domains, IT specialists, and colleagues within the Data & Analytics department.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of data models, transformations, and business logic.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in analytics engineering, DBT, data modelling, and cloud data platforms.
  • Controls & Observability: Implement business controls, data quality checks, and observability solutions using DBT, Soda, or comparable tooling.

Your team

We created the Data & Analytics department to enable our business to deliver high-quality data products using a modern cloud data platform. The mission of this technology-driven department is to ensure that data can be sourced, ingested, integrated, and consumed through well-designed, automated, and easy-to-use services and frameworks.
