Job Description

The Role
Checkout.com is actively looking for a driven and agile Associate, Reconciliations to join our newly formed treasury team in Mauritius.

 

Working as part of our Treasury function, you'll support the reconciliations of Payment Gateway (Schemes/APM) as well as Safeguarding / Client Fund Segregation  transactions. Evolving in a high-pace and multifaceted environment, meticulous attention to detail will be key. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, laser-focused and highly organized individual, not shying away from high volume of work. You must be a teammate when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can.

What you’ll be doing

  • Reconcile Checkout.com's payment gateway processing across multiple bank accounts and providers.

  • Connect with internal and external partners to resolve queries in an effective and timely manner.

  • Identify discrepancies, the respective root causes, and take action to eliminate and prevent any such in perspective.

  • Perform safeguarding reconciliation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and resolve safeguarding issues in a timely manner.

  • Develop and implement controls to optimize safeguarding and reconciliation processes.

  • Support the implementation of reconciliation systems (internal, external).

  • Perform automation work and support new product projects alongside cross-functional teams.

  • Improve processes, while maintaining robust controls.

  • Be an SME in reconciliations, systems and tools of online payment transactions, apply commanding knowledge of clearing and settlement processes to balance priorities in project delivery.

  • Support the team on audits both internal and external.

  • Continually develop skills and knowledge in line with business growth and expansion.


Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of work experience in high-volume transaction reconciliation

  • A university degree in a numerical subject with a strong academic record

  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas, PowerQuery, or VBA.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with large data sets with confidence.

  • Knowledge of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods, or Payin/Payout solutions.

  • A consistent track record of finding end-to-end solutions to issues and collaborating with cross-functional and remote teams.

  • The ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment with often shifting priorities.

  • The ability to self-manage individual projects of high complexity and automate manual tasks.

  • Experience building relationships with key partner groups to achieve business outcomes and improve process efficiency.

  • English proficiency and excellent communication skills at all levels.
