Position Summary
The Senior Analyst, Finance Planning supports External Manufacturing Operations by leading complex financial analysis, improving core planning and close processes, and delivering structured insights that support operational and financial decision-making.
This role requires a strong analytical foundation, the ability to operate independently within a dynamic environment, and the judgment to move beyond reporting into actionable business support. The Senior Analyst will take ownership of key close and forecasting activities, perform deeper variance and cost analysis, support cross-functional decision-making, and help strengthen the team’s reporting capability by creating and improving reports and dashboards that increase financial visibility and usability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly Close Ownership: Lead preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications; ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards while helping resolve issues proactively
- Variance and Cost Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of cost, spend, and volume variances; investigate root causes; validate data integrity; quantify financial impact; and highlight actionable insights for stakeholders
- Forecasting and Planning: Maintain and improve financial models, support forecasting cycles, and strengthen forecast accuracy through structured analysis and informed challenge of inputs and assumptions
- Reporting and Financial Visibility: Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring reports and dashboards; reconcile data across systems; and improve transparency, consistency, and usability of financial information
- Process Improvement and Automation: Identify manual or repetitive processes and implement automation or structural improvements that improve efficiency, control, scalability, and insight generation
- Cross-Functional Business Partnership: Provide analytical support to finance and operations stakeholders, helping connect financial results to operational drivers and business decisions
- Decision Support: Translate analysis into clear recommendations, summarize risks and opportunities, and support leaders in prioritizing actions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in FP&A, manufacturing finance, or a related analytical role
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data structuring
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and close processes
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with complex datasets while maintaining strong accuracy and judgment
- Experience improving, standardizing, or automating financial processes strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools is a plus
- Experience building reports or dashboards that improve team visibility and decision-making is strongly preferred
- Ability to manage recurring deliverables with minimal oversight and support cross-functional stakeholders effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analysis clearly and concisely
