WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role sits within the newly formed FP&A Future Capabilities organization. You will be a part of a team of data analysts that sit across several finance analytics squads, each specializing in a particular finance function within FP&A. You will help the Data Product Owner create and drive an agile backlog within the scrum team as together you work to deliver transformational reporting and analysis
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to be a part of the FP&A Future Capabilities Data Analysis team. The candidate needs to have a crisp understanding of the finance business’ needs and can translate those needs into actionable technical requirements. The candidate has exceptional SQL ability and experience with building, supporting, or troubleshooting BI Solutions. Their technical background will be solid, having expertise in data cleansing, data analysis, data visualization, and data storytelling. They are curious, lifelong learners, who enthusiastically seek to understand the why behind technical processes and data.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience with an emphasis on business reporting and analytics required
Experience with Financial data and systems
Strong ability to lead and/or work on cross-functional teams and provide project management support
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with multiple business stakeholders on firm deadlines
Ability to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with team members and business stakeholders
Experience with defining new measures, and the translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and reporting
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in tools like PowerPoint, Keynote, or a similar presentation format is required
Advanced SQL skills are mandatory. Experience querying big data environments (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks) is preferred. The ideal candidate also has experience with Python
Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze data, formulate hypotheses, and provide recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, IT or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll work to design, develop, and implement new decision support solutions that help the business leverage data to make informed decisions. You will use your expertise with both business and technology to help the product owner be successful and the data engineers be efficient.
You will gather requirements and design data flows to intake financial transactions, develop and test complex business rules, identify and model data against product and customer attribution to support financial optimization and deep analytics
You will perform data analyses across multiple source systems and data platforms
You will document technical details into easy-to-read artifacts that are consumed both internally and by stakeholders
You will work cross-functionally with Finance Data Governance, Financial Reporting, and with stakeholders across different domains of FP&A
You’ll be responsible for building the financial analytic capabilities that transform Nike to meet the challenges of a mixed retail and wholesale future
