The Business Banking Chief Controls Office (CCO) drives simpler, stronger and more effective risk and regulatory outcomes across Business Banking through transparency, consistency and actionable risk insights. We achieve this through robust governance practices, consistent application of enterprise frameworks and policies, and specialised centres of excellence. 
 
Within CCO, the Controls Centre of Excellence plays a critical role in strengthening the business control environment and enabling sustainable growth. The team works closely with business and risk leaders to uplift control maturity, embed automation and analytics, and transition from traditional point-in-time testing toward a more proactive and continuous assurance model. 
 
As a Senior Analyst, Controls Assurance, you'll support Business Banking by delivering high-quality controls testing and assurance activities, helping identify risks, strengthen controls and improve customer and business outcomes.

As a trusted partner to Business Banking, you'll play an important role in increasing the strength and efficiency of the control environment through automated controls assurance, data-driven insights and continuous monitoring.
You'll work collaboratively with control owners, risk teams, product partners and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical, sustainable solutions. 
 
Your impact
Reporting into the Controls Excellence team, you'll:
  • Execute controls testing activities in line with the Business Banking automated controls assurance framework.
  • Assess the design and operating effectiveness of automated, semi-automated and relevant IT controls.
  • Analyse data, evidence and control outcomes to identify trends, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide practical recommendations that strengthen the control environment and support business outcomes.
  • Maintain high-quality assurance documentation and accurate records.
  • Support initiatives that simplify processes, improve control effectiveness and enhance assurance capabilities through automation and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Build strong relationships across Risk, Business Banking, Technology and Audit stakeholders.

  • Experience in operational risk, controls assurance, audit, compliance or risk management within banking or financial services.
  • Experience testing automated controls, application controls, IT general controls, or business process controls in a regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and solve complex problems.
  • Exposure to data analytics, continuous monitoring or automation initiatives.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as SQL, Python, Alteryx or similar (highly regarded).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A curious mindset and passion for driving better risk and control outcomes.|
