As a Senior Analyst, Business Strategy & Analytics, you’ll play a central role in helping teams across Designer Brands make smarter, faster decisions through data. This isn’t just about reporting numbers—it’s about turning information into meaningful insights that shape how we serve our customers and run our business.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with leaders across Customer, Marketing, and Digital to uncover trends, solve complex problems, and identify opportunities to drive growth and efficiency. You’ll also act as a key connector between business partners and technical teams, ensuring data solutions are practical, scalable, and impactful.

What You'll Be DoingTurn data into actionable insights
- Analyze customer trends and behaviors to uncover opportunities for growth and improved performance
- Translate complex data into clear, accessible insights tailored to a range of audiences, including senior leadership
- Deliver timely, accurate reporting to support both immediate needs and long-term strategic planning
Build and enhance analytics solutions
- Develop, maintain, and improve reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical systems
- Ensure data integrity and governance across multiple data sources
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve analytics processes, tools, and methodologies
Partner across the business
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and design both ad hoc and scalable solutions
- Act as a liaison between business teams and shared services to ensure alignment and usability of data solutions
- Participate in business meetings and category reviews to stay connected to priorities and evolving opportunities
Lead and influence through expertise
- Serve as a subject matter resource across Customer, Marketing, and Digital analytics
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
- Lead cross-functional analytics initiatives and influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations
Support adoption and understanding
- Help teams confidently use data tools and insights in their day-to-day work
- Train and support users to drive effective adoption of analytics resources
- Ensure insights are not only delivered, but understood and actionable
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a corporate retail analyst, planning, or financial role
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including MS Access
- Proven track record of independently leading analytics initiatives and delivering measurable business impact
- Experience working with Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) application
Technical skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL (BigQuery experience is a plus)
- Experience with data mining and reporting tools
- Experience using data science programming languages such as R and Python
- Experience working with multiple data sources and validating data accuracy
Analytical & business skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including application of retail mathematics and statistics
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to connect data insights to broader business strategies
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations
Communication & collaboration
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences, including leadership
- Experience working cross-functionally and influencing decision-making
- Comfortable leading projects and collaborating across multiple teams

Education

Designer Brands is one of North America’s largest designers, producers and retailers of footwear and accessories that operates retail concepts.
