Business Banking (BB) supports a broad range of customers, from small businesses to large enterprises, including regional and agribusiness customers. Within BB, Business Lending (BL) delivers lending products and end-to-end customer journeys across working capital, term lending and specialised finance solutions.

You will join the Business Lending domain within Customer Channels & Data (CCD), supporting product innovation, improved credit decisioning, and data-driven insights. The team plays a key role in uplifting controls, supporting regulatory outcomes, and driving analytics-led decision making across a complex and high-impact portfolio.

We are seeking an Advanced Analytics Senior Analyst to help drive our transition from traditional insights and reporting into advanced analytics and data science.

This is a hands-on role where you will combine strong technical capability with business engagement to deliver impactful analytics. You’ll work across a wide range of use cases including reporting, controls, remediation, regulatory submissions and opportunity sizing, while helping introduce more predictive, automated and AI-driven approaches.

You will also play a key role in uplifting capability within the team by bringing advanced analytics expertise and helping others transition into this space

Key Responsibilities

Apply Advanced Analytics & Modelling:

  • Develop and deploy end-to-end analytical solutions, including predictive models and machine learning techniques

  • Move beyond descriptive analytics to drive automation, forecasting and insight generation

  • Apply Python (and/or R) to build scalable and repeatable analytical solutions

Deliver Business Impact

  • Identify customer and process breakpoints and translate them into actionable insights

  • Support business lending initiatives such as opportunity sizing, portfolio analysis and performance optimisation

  • Contribute to regulatory reporting, remediation activities and control uplift initiatives

Collaborate & Influence

  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple crews and domains (50+ stakeholders)

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

  • Support data-driven decision making across the business

Drive Innovation & Capability Uplift

  • Introduce advanced analytics, automation and emerging AI approaches into the team

  • Explore opportunities to streamline processes through intelligent automation and agent-led solutions

  • Mentor and guide team members transitioning into advanced analytics

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Proven experience in developing & productionising models end to end, machine learning algorithms, and other advanced analytics techniques.

  • Significant experience with analytical software such as Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

  • Knowledge of data governance standards and practices, ensuring the integrity, quality, and security of data used in analysis.

  • Exposure to GitHub, VS Code, cloud-based environments or similar

  • Familiarity with AI tools or agent-based workflows

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS)

Skills Required
