Layline Automation is seeking a highly skilled Senior AMI Network Designer. This role involves performing RF network audits, with a focus on Aclara Gas Meters or similar point-to-multi-point networks. Proficiency in project management is highly desirable.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Conduct in-depth audits and assessments of existing RF networks to identify improvement areas and optimize performance. 
  • Design, develop, and implement Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks, ensuring reliability and high performance. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, project managers, and operations, to meet network requirements and deliver effective solutions. 
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on the deployment and maintenance of AMI systems. 
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are achieved within scope and budget. 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and operational procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, minimizing operational disruptions. 
  • Interface with clients to understand their needs and provide customized solutions. 
  • Staying up to date on industry trends and advancements in AMI and RF technologies. 


Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
 

  • Extensive experience with RF network design and audits. 
  • Proficiency with Aclara Gas Meters or similar point-to-multi-point network technologies. 
  • Strong understanding of AMI systems and their components. 
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of leading and managing multiple projects concurrently. 
  • Proficiency in network design software and tools. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality. 


Education and Work Experience
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 5-7 years of proven work experience as an AMI Network Designer or a similar role. 
  • Extensive experience with RF networks and AMI technologies. 
  • Previous experience in project management within a technical or engineering services environment. 


Physical Requirements 

Work is typically performed in an environment, using simple, easy muscular movements, involving only the handling of light materials, tools, or equipment in easy work positions, and with no special speed requirements or long stretches of exertion. Vision requirements for this job include close vision and the ability to focus. Remaining in a stationary position and in front of a computer screen for prolonged periods will be necessary. Repeating motions such as typing, that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers are necessary.
